Public Consultation for the Revision of the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme Started

The first round of consultations  for the preparation of the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme was carried out in February 2021 involving stakeholder meetings and the completion of a first online questionnaire. The results confirmed the areas of interest and concentration of the programme within the following three fields: “Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and the uptake of advanced technologies” (under PO1-Smarter Europe), “Promoting climate change adaptation, and disaster risk prevention, resilience, taking into account eco-system based approaches” (under PO2-A Greener Europe) and “Enhancing protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity, and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution.” (under PO2-A Greener Europe).

Following the approval of the Program Document by the European Commission on 13 December 2022, the first call for proposals published on 30 March 2023, ended on 4 July 2023. At the current stage, it has been decided by the European Union Commission to make an additional allocation of approximately 20 Million Euros to the Programme budget. In this context, in addition to the above-mentioned program priorities, the Interreg Specific Objective "Better Cooperation Governance " has been included in the Programme. With this objective the Programme aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of public authorities in the Programme area, to develop trust and sustainable democracy, and to support civil society actors.

In order to better shape the new Objective for  the needs of the Programme partners, a public consultation process was started. Our institutions and organizations will be able to convey their expectations and opinions through a questionnaire until 24 August 2023, at latest.    To reach the questionnaire click here
