First Joint Trainings of the Strategic Project Cooperation for Border Management of the Interreg IPA Bulgaria-Türkiye Programme Held

In Kırklareli, the event started with the opening speeches of Deputy Governor of Kırklareli Yusuf Güler, Şebnem Sözer, Head of Cross-border Cooperation Department from the Directorate for EU Affairs.
Training for 56 Turkish and Bulgarian law enforcement officers in Edirne and 31 in Kırklareli was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Volkan Tatar, Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Arel University. The trainings aimed to improve the knowledge of law enforcement officers in the cross-border region on EU legislation, common instruments and mechanisms at EU level, national institutional frameworks and policies on the management of migration flows. It aimed to contribute to the achievement of common competencies of partners and to strengthen the ability of the relevant departments to function effectively within national migration management systems. Contributed to improving the professional capacity and skills of law enforcement officers in the cross-border region.
Within the scope of the project, under the activity of trainings to improve the capabilities of law enforcement agencies to function effectively, two further joint trainings will be provided, targeting communication training and language skills development.
