Application Period for the 2nd Call of the Interreg NEXT Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme is Approaching

Interreg NEXT Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme continues to shape the future of the Mediterranean with the participating countries of the Programme and will soon open its 2nd Call for the 2021-2027 period.

Public administrations, municipalities, sectoral organizations, universities, research centers and similar institutions and including for-profit organizations, associations, foundations, unions, NGOs, SMEs and similar private institutions and international organizations in 21 provinces (Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, İzmir, Aydın, Denizli, Muğla, Manisa, Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Uşak, Antalya, Isparta, Burdur, Adana, Mersin, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye) will be able to apply for the €83.7 million budget of the 2nd call, which is planned to be opened in January.

Within the scope of the programme conditions, it is expected to develop project partnerships with institutions and organizations in the eligible area of the programme member countries.Under the partnership principle of the programme, at least three countries are required to be involved in the projects to be prepared, and these partnerships must include at least one EU Member State and at least one non-EU country.

Projects should be prepared under the same priorities as in the first call (a more competitive and smarter Mediterranean, a greener, low-carbon Mediterranean, a more social and inclusive Mediterranean, better cooperation governance for the Mediterranean), but each project proposal is expected to meet the criterion of contributing to the green transformation.

On the other hand, you can start your partner search initiatives by registering on MEDCONNECT, the Programme’s partner search platform, through the “I have a project idea, I am looking for partners” and “My organization is interested in joining a project partnership” options.

Between 15-23 January 2025, a series of partner search events will be organized by the Managing Authority of the Programme. In the following dates, Programme Experts from the national authority, the Directorate for EU Affairs, will also organize information meetings in some provinces within the Programme area and online information meetings, and announcements will be made on our website and social media.
