The second training, the first of which was held online, took place physically at the Directorate for EU Affairs, the National Authority for the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin and Mediterranean Sea Basin and Interreg IPA Bulgaria-Türkiye Programmes. The training started with the opening remarks of Serdar Öztürk, Deputy Director General of Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation from the Directorate for European Union Affairs.
During the training provided by representatives from TESIM, which provides technical support to the Programmes, the Managing Authorities and Joint Secretariats of the Programmes and experts from the Directorate for EU Affairs, the controllers who will be involved in the projects to be implemented under the Programme in 2021-2027 were informed about the national control mechanism in Türkiye, management verifications, using Jems for Control, procurement, prevention, detection and correction of irregularities and fraud and their questions were answered.
Following these trainings, the controllers will be responsible for the verification of expenditure compliance of the projects to be implemented after the finalization of the calls for Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin and Mediterranean Sea Basin and Interreg IPA Bulgaria-Türkiye Programmes.
