As in the first call of the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, Türkiye was the country with the highest number of projects accepted and the highest number of partners in the second call. Thus, Türkiye became the country with the highest number of grants in all calls of the Programme in the 2021-2027 period.
As a result of the evaluations made within the scope of the second call, 52 new projects worth 51,8 million Euros, 24 of which are small-scale projects with a budget range of 250,000 Euros to 500,000 Euros and 28 standard projects with a budget range of 500,001 Euros to 1,500,000 Euros, will be implemented with 224 partners.
Of these, 45 projects worth €45 million have Turkish partners and 60 Turkish partner institutions take part in these projects. In a total of 27 projects, 14 standard projects worth €18 million and 13 small-scale projects worth €6 million, Turkish institutions were main applicants . All 27 projects are worth €25,2 million.
Among the provinces in the programme area, most project applications were accepted from Istanbul, Trabzon and Tekirdağ. Under the second call, projects will be implemented on environmental protection and green infrastructure, water resources management and pollution reduction, sustainable agriculture and food safety, sustainable tourism and protection of natural heritage, climate change mitigation and adaptation, youth engagement and social innovation, waste management and circular economy, protection of coastal and marine areas, sustainable fishery and aquaculture and disaster risk reduction and crisis management. The projects are planned to start to be implemented in the secod half of 2025.
For the second call, 258 project applications were made and 200 projects were applied as partners from Türkiye. Thus, Türkiye became the country that submitted the highest number of projects and received the highest amount of grants both in the call and in the history of the programme.
