The Monitoring Committee of the Black Sea Basin Programme, which meets at regular intervals, held its third meeting for the period 2021-2027 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The representatives of the countries participating in the Programme, as well as officials from the European Commission (DG REGIO) and TESIM, which provides technical support to the Interreg Programmes, and representatives of the Managing Authority and the Joint Secretariat of the Programme attended the meeting.
During the meeting, 258 projects submitted to the second call were evaluated and the distribution of funds to be allocated to the projects and possible fund transfers were discussed. At the end of the evaluation, 52 new projects were selected, 24 of which were small-scale projects with a budget range of €250,000 to €500,000 and 28 of which were standard projects with a budget range of €500,001 to €1,500,000. Details on the progress of the programme were also among the agenda items of the meeting.

In the meeting, the project representatives also informed the participants about the projects that will contribute significantly to the achievement of the Programme's objectives, namely cooperation for wildfires community resilience capacity building and early warning in the Black Sea Basin and establishing and operating an ınnovative marine technology transfer network for enhancing the transition to a sustainable blue economy in the Black Sea Basin in which Istanbul University is a partner from Türkiye.
