The REGIOSTARS awards, organized annually by the European Commission since 2008 as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities, will be held for the seventeenth time this year. The awards given to EU-funded projects that make a difference with their new approaches to regional development continue to inspire other regions and project managers in Europe.

This year, project owners can submit their projects to REGIOSTARS in five different categories.

- A competitive and smart Europe category targeting projects to support competitiveness, innovation and economic resilience

- A linked European category targeting projects to increase mobility and connectivity between regions

- A social and inclusive Europe category targeting projects to achieve a more inclusive Europe by harnessing regional capabilities

- A European category closer to citizens targeting projects aimed at promoting the sustainable development of all types of regions

- A green European category targeting projects for green transformation as a driver of regional development in five different categories.

The deadline for the competition is May 20, 2025.
